Cheaper vegetables dip food inflation to 12 pc

New Delhi, Nov 4: The month of Nov showed a slight relief to the public as food inflation fell to 12.85 per cent and the prices of vegetables, especially potato and onion, softened due to improved supplies.

However, other essential items like rice, cereals, milk and fruits continued to remain costly.

While egg, meat and fish became dearer by 28.85 per cent on an annual basis.

Although prices of some food items are easing, but demand supply mismatch persist in several essential commodities.
