K'taka Lokayukta inquires BJP's poaching

Bangalore, Nov 3: Though the political crisis in Karnataka has come to a standstill, but now the Karnataka Lokayukta, has begun a preliminary probe into a complaint alleging horse-trading by ruling BJP to lure opposition MLAs.

Lokayukta Santosh Hegde told sources that Ramesh Gowda(JDS) has provided a CD in support of his complaint.“If there is any prima facie case, we will commence a full-fledged probe," he added.

The JDS had charged that BJP MLA Mr Suresh Gowda offered money to MLA Srinivas to resign his assembly membership ahead of the second floor test faced by Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa on Oct 22.
