Raj Thackeray to support Shiv Sena for Mayor post?
Out of total 107 seats, Shiv Sena-BJP combine won 40 seats, Congress-NCP got 30 seats, Raj Thackeray's Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) bagged 26 seats and others claimed 11 seats.
MNS, contesting for the first time in KDMC polls, became crucial to decide the Mayor as the parties need magic mark of 54-seats to claim power. Many media named MNS chief Raj Thackeray as the 'King Maker' to form the government.
It is not sure that whether MNS supports Shiv Sena-BJP or the Congress-NCP combine to form the government in return for Mayor's post.
After the results, Raj Thackeray told the reporters that the next Mayor will be from his party. Some of the MNS MLAs also have the same opinion.
"Of course, we have the cards in our hands. If you want to call us kingmaker, I have no objection at all. It is too early to decide who the mayor will be, but whoever it is, our vote will be vital," said MNS MLA Nitin Sardesai.
