Turkey: Suicide bomb attack injures 22

Istanbul, Oct 31: More than twenty two people were injured in a suicide bomb attack in central Istanbul on Sunday Oct 31.

Turkish media reported that the suicide bomber targeted police officials. The incident was happened around 10:30 am in north side Istanbul's Taksim Square, area cordoned off for police officers and police vehicles.

Istanbul Police Chief Huseyin Capkın told that the attack was carried out by a male suicide bomber who was killed in the blast. Twelve of the injured were civilians and 10 were police officers.

"We think the attacker attempted to enter a police bus and detonate the bomb inside, but the explosives went off earlier," said Huseyin Capkın.
