Court rejects Rathore's interim bail plea

New Delhi, Oct 27: The Supreme Court on Wednesday, Oct 27, rejected Former Haryana DGP, SPS Rathore"s lawyer bail plea to release Rathore, so that he can celebrate Diwali with his family.

However, Justices P Sathasivam and B S Chauhan clarified that it was not rejecting the bail application but was only deferring it and sought CBI's response on the plea.

A CBI special court on Dec 21 held Rathore guilty of molesting 14-year-old Ruchika Girhotra in Panchkula town on Aug 12, 1990. Ruchika, a budding tennis player, had committed suicide three years after the incident.
