Assam blast derails train's bogies, no casualty

Train derailment
Haflong(Assam), Oct 27: Three coaches of the Barack Valley Express were derailed on Wednesday, Oct 27 after suspected militants triggered blast on a railway track in Assam's North Cachar Hills district, where an indefinite bandh by the DHD(Nunisa) was on.

Sources said there were not immediate reports of casualties as the incident occurred in a remote area.

The train was proceeding from Lumding to Silchar in North Cachar district and was derailed due to the blast at a place between Lower Haflong and Bagatar railway stations.

Reports said that the blast damaged railway track and the movement of trains were disrupted.

The Dima Halam Daogah (Dilip Nunisa) group had called for an indefinite district bandh demanding the arrest of district Additional Superintendent of Police Amitav Sinha and four DHD (Jewel) faction cadres for allegedly assaulting one of its cadre on Oct 23 at Gabao Village.
