5 disqualified K'taka MLAs file fresh petition

Bangalore, Oct 27: Challenging the order of Karnataka Speaker KG Bopaiah, the five disqualified independent rebel legislators filed a fresh petition before the Karnataka High Court on Wednesday, Oct 27 and the petition will be heard by a new division bench on Nov 2.

Earlier, some voters from the disqualified independent MLAs constituencies filed a complaint on Oct 9 before the speaker, on the basis of which the Speaker disqualified them the next day.

Speaker KG Bopaiah had disqualified the 5 independents rebel MLAs, along with 11 dissident BJP MLAs, hours before the vote of confidence on 11 Oct.
