London, Oct 26 (ANI): Peter Mandelson has dubbed former UK PM Gordon Brown "a cross between a snowplough and a combine harvester"- saying he couldn't even fix his own tie.
Mandelson, who served as Business Secretary in the last Labour government, was caught commenting on documentary film 'Mandelson: The Real PM?' by Hannah Rothschild during the election campaign.
In one clip, Lord Mandelson discusses how to boost Brown's image. He says: "I've given up. I'd settle for the tie being straight. I just cannot understand why he cannot tie a tie like anyone else and centre it like anyone else and have it remain there," the Sun quoted him as saying.
At another point, an adviser tries to put Brown's flaws into words.
"He can have his braininess. He can be as brainy as he likes," andy said.
But he adds Labour should present him as "somebody they can relate to as a human being" rather than "a cross between a snowplough and a combine harvester".
"I think it gives a pretty accurate picture of what ministerial life is like with all its downsides and other events," Mandelson said.
"I don't know whether people will discover the real Peter Mandelson from it. We will have to wait and see," he added.
The film had its premiere on Sunday at the London Film Festival.
The BBC airs the documentary next month. (ANI)
