CWG: Doordarshan refutes broadcasting allegations

Delhi Games 2010
New Delhi, Oct 23: After corruption allegations raised against broadcasting contract of Commonwealth Games 2010, Doordarshan rejected all corruption charges on the Rs 246 crore contract.

"The whole contract is very transparent. There is nothing wrong in it," Doordarshan director general, Aruna Sharma claimed on Saturday, Oct 23.

She also claimed, "The deal has been done following all the process of government and General Finance Rules (GFR) and with proper approval by the competent authority, which is the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting."

Income Tax officials on Oct 22 claimed that Rs 246 crore CWG broadcasting contract was given to London-based SIS Live despite of its dubious legal status.
