12 militants killed in air strikes in Pak tribal region

Islamabad, Oct 23 (ANI): Twelve suspected insurgents were killed in air strikes in the Orakzai tribal region of Pakistan.

Helicopter gunships targeted two suspected militant hideouts in the region, the Dawn reported.

Six militants were also wounded in the air strikes, local government administrator Aurangzeb Khan said.

Independent confirmation of the strikes and the death toll is nearly impossible because access to the conflict zone is restricted.

Earlier this week, a roadside bomb blast had killed six paramilitary soldiers in Orakzai, where the Pakistan army has waged an offensive against the Taliban. (ANI)
