PC refutes Jaitley’s charge on Azadi meeting

New Delhi, Oct 22: Reacting to Arun Jaitley's statement, Home Minister P Chidambaram said that the authorities have the videograph of the entire proceedings of the seminar and Delhi police will take action in accordance with law over the speeches made Geelani on Thursday, Oct 21.

“I strongly reject Arun Jaitley"s charge that the Centre was doing nothing when a seminar was held on Oct 21, in which Geelani and others participated," P Chidambaram said in a statement.

"Delhi police is looking in to the matter whether there has been a violation of the laws by the Kashmiri separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani or not, " he stated.

Earlier, Senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley on slammed the government for allowing Kashmiri separatists to make anti-India speeches and said freedom of speech too has constitutional limits.
