12,000 Infy employees to get promotions in Oct '10

Hyderabad, Oct 22: Indian IT giant, Infosys decided to give midterm promotions to around 12,000 employees by the end of Oct 2010.

"Promotions and hikes will now be a part of our routine cycle. We had already given promotions in Apr 2010," stated Infosys MD and CEO, S Gopalakrishnan on Oct 21.

Speaking at the CII conference, Gopalakrishnan also announced that the company invested around $100 million in its new China project, which would strengthen its employee count there from the existing 2,850 to 4,000.

"We hope to create a similar center in China too and have initiated talks with the government there to acquire land on lease. We will build our campus once we have land," he added.
