Ayodhya, Oct 21: The meeting held by Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) at Karsevakpuram on Wednesday, Oct 20 decided to file an appeal in the Supreme Court against the Allahabad High Court verdict on the Ayodhya issue.

Sharad Sharma, media in charge of the VHP, said that the appeal would be filed on behalf of “Ram Lalla Virajman," who is a party to the Ayodhya title dispute.

After meeting the VHP leaders said a delegation of saints led by Shankaracharya of Jyotirmath Swami Vasudevanand Saraswati will meet Manmohan Singh. However the leaders did not disclosed the date and the purpose of the meeting.

In the meeting the VHP leaders felt that only a Ram temple could be built in the disputed site and the mosque can be built elsewhere.

At the meeting sant samaj welcomed the High Court verdict, and said that the Muslims should voluntarily hand over the one-third of the disputed Ayodhya land for the construction of Ram temple and the construction of the temple at the Ayodhya site will be in the interests of both Hindus and Muslims.

VHP general secretary Praveen Togadia and president Ashok Singhal were also present in the meeting.
