Nepal to create government posts for women

Kathmandu, Oct 20: The Nepal cabinet has directed Ministry of General Administration (MoGA) to create government posts for women only.

The posts of Women Development Officers and two other junior posts at Women Development Department and other branches of the Ministry of Women, Children and Social Welfare (MoWCSW) are to be formalized as the women's bastion.

"After the decision is implemented, for the first time an open competition will be held in which only women candidate will participate," said Niranjan Prasad Upadhyaya, spokesperson for Public Service Commission (PSC).

"We have received the copy of the decision from the cabinet regarding this and now we are in the process to get it published in the gazette," a MoGA source said.
