Indonesia: Police fire at anti-govt protesters

Jakarta, Oct 20: To disperse the anti-government protesters, Jakarta police aimed warning firing at the crowd in Indonesia on Wednesday, Oct 20.

To mark the first anniversary of the beginning of Indonesian President, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono"s second five-year term, protests were held in several cities in the country.

Students, who were mostly from the nearby Bung Karno University, demonstrators in Jakarta"s Menteng neighbourhood blocked a road and fought anti-riot police who tried to disperse them.
