CWG mess: ED registers case against OC officials

New Delhi, Oct 20: The multi-probe into the Commonwealth Games scam gathered steam on Tuesday, Oct 19 with the Enforcement Directorate(ED) registering a case for alleged Foreign Exchange violation by the Games Organizing Committee officials in connection with Queen's Baton Relay, according to sources.

Sources say the Central Bureau of Intelligence is verifying 20 complaints of alleged misappropriation of funds by the Organizing Committee.

While in a separate development, the Urban Development ministry has asked the Delhi Development Authority to provide all facts on the Games Village at the earliest.

The Emmar-MGF has been under the scanner for allegedly not executing the project of the development of the Games Village efficiently.

According to sources, the Central Vigilance Comission (CVC) has found discrepancies in tenders awarded for the CWG projects amounting to around Rs 8,000 crore.
