You have to respect our sovereignty: Qureshi to US

Boston, Oct 19: Following the several attacks by NATO in the country, Pakistan Foreign Minister, Shah Mehmood Qureshi stated that US should respect Pakistan's sovereignty as the countries were allies, not satellites.

"You have to respect our sovereignty, Islamabad is an ally and not a satellite," stated Qureshi while speaking at the Harvard Kennedy School on Oct 19.

He also claimed that recent NATO attacks from helicopters on Pakistan's soil "infuriated" the people of his country.

Addressing US, Qureshi also added, "We live in a rough neighbourhood and we will live in that rough neighbourhood even when you leave. We have to prepare for all eventualities, we have to protect our borders."
