TDP stages protest to meet Prime Minister in Hyderabad
Hyderabad, Oct.19 (ANI): Telugu Desam Party (TDP) staged a protest here on Tuesday, demanding a meeting with the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, who was on a day visit to the city.
Senior TDP leader Devender Goud, said that they wanted to represent state issues in front of the Prime Minster and wanted to talk to him over Micro Finance Institutions (MFIs) and some other major issues concerning the state.
"We came here to give requisition to the Prime Minister, but unfortunately, we are not allowed to meet the Prime Minister of this country," said Goud.
Meanwhile, another party member, Aravind Goud said the party leader wanted to present the issues related to farmers before the Prime Minister.
"Farmers have some problems that they do not have national level godowns, we tried to discus all these issues with honourable Prime Minister. We wanted to make him understand the problem of the State and solve it," said Aravind Goud.
"Andhra Pradesh is a state of 8 crores people and if the Prime Minister won't listen to the plight of 8 crore people then what kind of leader and government is this. We condemn this behaviour and definitely we would stop the Prime Minister to discuss all the state related problems and we would give our suggestions to him for all the issues," he added.
Party president N Chandra Babu Naidu also participated in the protest alongwith his party workers.
Police arrested N Chandra Babu Naidu and several protestors. (ANI)
