NSCN(IM) leader arrested, despite ceasefire
Sources said Shimrey was picked up by security forces of Nepal in Kathmandu immediately after his arrival from Bangkok and later he was handed over to India. He is now in the custody of the NIA.
Giving an account of the charges against him, sources said he was involve in the procurement of weapons from the Chinese arms dealers. He then would sell to different militant groups of North East including ULFA, NDFB, ANVC, HNLC as well as to other smaller militant outfit.
However, Shimrey denied all the charges and admitted that he acts only as the head of the Foreign Affairs department of the NSCN (I-M) to have a mutual relationship with the foreign nations and maintain peace and order.
