Father fails to pay 50 lakh ransom, son murdered

Surat, Oct 18: An eight-year-old boy was murdered and his body was dumped in Surat's Udhna Darwaja area by unidentified persons, after the deceased"s father failed to meet their ransom demand, the Surat police said.

The deceased, identified as Yash Markana, was kidnapped on Sunday, Oct 17 night from outside his residence in Kapodra area, when he was playing with his friends.

Later the kidnappers demanded ransom of 50 lakh for the safe release of Yash Markana. Yash father Mukesh paid Rs 12 lakh to the kidnappers within hours of the abduction. but still the kidnappers killed him, police said.

A complaint has been registered and investigation was on in the matter, police said.
