Case against Shiv Sena for violating norms

Shiv Sena
Mumbai, Oct 18: A case under Bombay Police Act has been registered against Shiv Sena party workers for violating Noise Pollution Control Rules during the party's Dasara rally held on Sunday, Oct 17 at Shivaji Park, Mumbai.

"The Bombay High Court had directed the organisers of Shiv Sena that the noise level should not exceed more than 50 decibel in the rally, but the organisers did not followed the High Court order, so we are taking action against them," said Assistant Commissioner of Police Madhukar Sankhe.

Earlier, Mumbai city police had denied them permission to use loudspeakers in the rally, as the area was declared a silence Zone, following which Shiv Sena moved to the High Court.

The Bombay High Court on Monday, Oct 11, permitted Shiv Sena to hold its traditional Dasara rally at Shivaji Park.
