UP: Blast in Durga puja pandal, 1 killed

Ballia, Oct 17: Two persons were killed and nine wounded after a gas cylinder burst in Uttar Pradesh during Durga puja celebrations in Ballia on Saturday, Oct 16, police said.

The incident took place at Uttar Pradesh's Sikandarpur region when a gas cylinder used to fill balloons exploded during the celebrations killing SantoshMali and Manu Pandey on the spot.

In the incident nine others were also seriously injured and immediately they were taken to the hospital. Later their condition was stated to be stable by the doctors, police said.

After the cylinder blast police and rescue teams rushed to the spot and started relief activities.
