Suresh Kalmadi meets Jaipal Reddy ahead of Group of Ministers' meet

New Delhi, Oct.17 (ANI): A day ahead of the Group of Ministers (GoM) meet, Commonwealth Games' Organising Committee chairman Suresh Kalmadi met Urban Development Minister Jaipal Reddy here on Sunday.

Reddy, who is also the head of the Group of Ministers (GoM) formed for the Games, said the meet was in the context of extending 'Dussera greetings'.

"He (Kalmadi) did meet me. It was a Dussera festival greeting," said Reddy.

The Group of Ministers is to hold its first meet after the Games on Monday. They group is expected to discuss allegations of corruption and irregularities on Commonwealth Games projects. .

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress President Sonia Gandhi recently interacted with the medal winners of the Commowealth Games in separate meetings. .

The Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit has also said that the "suspicion" of corruption allegations against the Commonwealth Games is being investigated.

The Prime Minister has set up a high-level committee headed by former Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) chief V K Shunglu to probe any misappropriation in organization of the Commonwealth Games. (ANI)
