Kashmiri pandits hold protest march against govt

Jammu, Oct 17: About 3000 unemployed Kashmiri Pandits (KP) marched from Jammu to Srinagar on Sunday, Oct 17, protesting against the state government to show their disappointment on a recruitment related matter.

Few months ago, Jammu Kashmir government had promised special employment package for the youth of the community in different sectors on the condition that they will return to the Valley.

While the Pandits agreed to the condition, but unfortunately the state government had not issued any joining letter to the Kashmiri Pandits till date.

However, the government says the reason for the delay in the recruitment process is the unrest that took over the valley in the recent past.
