Raj: Neighbour abducts, rapes minor for a week

Jaipur, Oct 16: A class VIII girl was allegedly abducted by a neighbour and raped for a week in Semlia village of Chittorgarh district of Rajasthan.

According to a newspaper report, the minor girl went missing on Oct 5 and returned only on Wednesday, 13.

"The parents told us that though the girl returned home on Wednesday, who went missing since October 5, she said that the accused had raped her for at least a week," an investigating officer told the popular daily, DNA.

The parents have lodged a complaint of abduction and molestation against the accused, identified as Gopal Lal.

"They have lodged a case against Gopal Lal who is also living the same locality of the village where the girl lives," the officer added.

A man hunt has been launched for the accused. As of now, the police are only pursuing the angle of abduction. To ascertain if the victim was sexually assaulted, the police are planning on sending the girl for medical examination.
