Ayodhya: AIMPLB meet to mull moving Supreme Court

Lucknow, Oct 16: The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) is scheduled to meet on Saturday, Oct 16 to chalk out future course of action on the Ayodhya land dispute.

In the crucial meeting, the AIMPLB will be mulling over the the recommendations of its legal committee to approach the Supreme Court against the Allahabad High Court's verdict in the 60-year Ayodhya dispute.

Sources have revealed that the 51-member committee along with invitees like former Justice Sagir Ahmed and chairman of the Sunni Central Waqf Board Zafar Ahmed Farooqui will discuss the HC verdict in detail before looking into the recommendation to move the SC.

According to some medial reports, a rift has emerged in the AIMPLB on the Ram Temple-Babri Masjid dispute. While some clerics want an out-of-court settlement, others favour the legal option.

The reports on the differences came on Friday, Oct 15, a day ahead of the meeting.
