Human needs double natural resources by 2030

London, Oct 15: Following the huge usage of natural resources at recent time, a study showed that human demands for natural resources would be doubled in coming 50 years.

According the biennial Living Planet Report, humankind would be in need for the capacity of two earths by 2030.

The study authors looked at 8,000 populations of 2,500 species and studied the change in land use and water consumption across the globe.

Ireland had the 10th highest ecological footprint in the world, while the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Denmark, Belgium and the US were the five worst countries for over-consumption of resources.
