Apple sent invitations for 'Back to the Mac' event

San Francisco, Oct 14: The iPhone maker Apple has sent out invitations to select members of the media for a special 'Back to the Mac' event scheduled for Wednesday, Oct 20.

It is expected that Apple will unveil a new version of Mac OS X during this event. The name of the upcoming version Mac OS X 10.7 is not yet revealed. All the earlier versions have names from cat family like Panther, Tiger, Leopard, Snow Leopard etc. The event invite shows a slightly tilted Apple logo and a Lion peeking from behind the logo.

Some of the media reported that the name may be Lion or Panthera Leo. Apple may add new features like Geo-location, Multi-touch and some of the tablet"s functionality in the desktop experience.
