Now, 'Zork' your bubbly to keep the fizz from going flat

London, Oct 13 (ANI): Popping open a bottle of champagne is always fun, but not so much when the bubbly fizzes out - well, not any more - thanks to a clever device called 'zork'.

Tesco is initially rolling out the plastic cap, reckoned to be a hi-tech alternative to the traditional champagne cork - with the added advantage of being able to reseal the bottle so the fizz can be put back in the fridge without going flat, reports The Daily Mail.

It also takes the danger out of opening a bottle of bubbly for the first time - removing the Zork can be achieved with little more than a gentle twist and a hiss.

The Zork is made up of four parts, which include a cap with a tamper-proof band, a button on the top that is pushed to allow the spring-loaded cap to be clamped to the bottle, a foil barrier to stop gas escaping and a seal that prevents leaking under extreme, high pressure conditions.

Tesco is releasing the cap with four of its bubblies - Mateus Sparkling Brut Rose; Tesco 1531 Blanquette de Limoux; Dino Durello Spumante; and Tesco Finest Angas Rose.

"This is great news for customers who are just looking to enjoy the odd glass of sparkling wine as Zork keeps the bubbles in the bottle for more than a week," said Tesco spokesman Dan Jago.

To say nothing of seeing the cork ricochet around the room. (ANI)
