NATO choppers again violate Pak airspace days after formal apology

Quetta, Oct 13 (ANI): After assuring Pakistan of no more intrusions into its territory, two NATO helicopters again violated Pakistani airspace in Chaman area, a bordering town of Balochistan with Afghanistan.

"Two NATO helicopters crossed 200 yards into our territory and went back after a moment," the Dawn quoted an officer, as saying.

The helicopters were seen over Killi Luqman area, he revealed, adding that NATO officials deployed in Afghanistan were informed, and a protest was lodged against the violation.

The helicopters entered about 200 meters inside Pakistani airspace at 10:40 am yesterday, and returned back to Spin Boldak area in Afghanistan to their airbase, The Nation reported.

While the movement of NATO choppers created panic among the local residents, security was beefed up at the Pak-Afghan border following the violation of Pak airspace.

Official sources in Chaman said that they could not say whether the choppers deliberately violated Pak airspace or by mistake, adding that the NATO helicopters come on zero point and returned back. (ANI)
