WB: Air-India flight suffers bird hit, all safe

Kolkata, Oct 2: Air-India flight from Yangon to Kolkata with 35 passengers on board had a close shave on Tuesday, Oct 12, after it suffered a bird hit while landing, airport sources said.

Though the incident created a scare, the pilot managed to land the plane safely and no one was injured in the incident.

However, due to the bird hit one engine of the aircraft was damaged, airport sources said.

Earlier, on Jun 16, all 146 passenger of Air India flight had a miraculous escape when the plane suffered a bird hit.

Meanwhile, passenger S Srima of Nagaland, was detained at the airport for carrying two bullets in his bag. Srima was due to go to New Delhi from Kolkata.
