5.3 magnitude earthquake hits Pak, no casualty

Islamabad, Oct 11: An earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale hits Pakistan's capital city Islamabad on Monday, Oct 11. However, no serious injuries or casualty were reported.

According to the media sources, the earthquake which lasted only for a few seconds, occurred around 2:45 am, and had its epicentre about 30 km north of Islamabad.

The earthquake was shallow at a depth of 10 km and resulted in strong shaking. People rushed out of their homes.

Quakes were also felt in several other cities like Rawalpindi, Muzaffarabad, Rawal Kot, Taxila, Peshawar, Abbottabad, Hazara Division and Mansehra,.
