Court permits Sena to hold Dasara rally
The court, however, said the party has to follow noise pollution control rules regarding silence zones. As per the rules, in silence zones, noise level cannot exceed 50 decibel.
In May, responding to a PIL, court had asked BMC to declare the area as silence zone. Therefore, the authorities had refused permission for the rally.
Over four decades old party, the Shiv Sena has been holding rallies every year on Dasara at Shivaji Park where party chief Bal Thackeray addressed party workers.
In 2006, the party had called off the Dussehra rally, its the biggest event, due to heavy rains.
