Bihar boat mishap: 22 killed, many still missing

Buxar (Bihar), Oct 11: As many as 22 people are reported to have been killed in a boat mishap that took place on the Ganga river here on Sunday, Oct 10.

The country-boat carrying 50 passengers sank in the Ganga river while sailing to Dalupur from Uttar Pradesh's Ballia. The mishap reportedly occured when the boat got caught in a whirlpool and capsized.

Quoting Bihar police officials, latest media reports put the death toll at 22. The toll is expected to rise as many are still missing.

Rescue operations are on.

Initial reports suggested that 35 lives could have been lost in the tragic mishap.
