Assam bandh: 11 injured in acid bomb attack

Mangaldoi(Assam), Oct 11: At least 11 people were injured on Monday, Oct 11 when protesters supporting a 12-hour bandh in Bodoland Territorial Council allegedly hurled an acid bomb at a bus near here, the police said.

The bandh call was given by All Assam Adivasi Students' Association, adding the bandh enforcers threw a bomb at the vehicle in Lalbagh Orang at Udalguri district after which 11 passengers sustained burn injuries.

The condition of seven of the injured was stated to be critical and five of them have been shifted to Guwahati Medical College Hospital and two to Kanaklata Civil Hospital in Tezpur, they added.
