2 Americans, 1 British-Cypriot win Economics Nobel

Stockholm, Oct 11: Americans Peter A Diamond and Dale T Mortensen and British-Cypriot Christopher A Pissarides won the Nobel price for economics announced by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences on Oct 11.

Reports said their prestigious award was based on analysis of markets with search frictions.

In 2009, the prize — formally called The Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel was awarded to Elinor Ostrom and Oliver Williamson for their work in the field of economic governance.
