Racial slur: NZ TV host Paul quits

New Zealand
Wellington, Oct 10: New Zealand's tv anchor, Paul Henry quits on Sunday, Oct 10, over insensitive and inappropriate remarks over Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit.

Henry was suspended without pay for slur against NZ Govenor General.

"I am astonished and dismayed that my comments have created a diplomatic incident. I walk the finest of lines and accept that I have inadvertently crossed it from time to time. I do not want to be the lightning rod for racial disharmony in this country," said Henry after resigning.

After mispronouncing Delhi CM Shiela Dikshit's name, despite being corrected, Henry remarked, "the dip shit woman. God, what's her name? Dick Shit. Is it Dick Shit ... it looks like 'Dick Shit'. It's so appropriate, because she's Indian, so she'd be dick-in-shit wouldn't she, do you know what I mean? Walking along the street ... it's just so funny."

Besides these remarks on Dikshit, the Paul also ran into trouble for a racial slur against Indian-origin governor-general of New Zealand Sir Anand Satyanand.
