Nellai Express derails in Tamil Nadu, no casualty

Tirunelveli, Oct 10: Rail traffic was affected after the last bogie of a Tirunelveli-bound train from Chennai derailed on Sunday, Oct 10, however, no casualties have been reported yet and repair work is on.

According to the Railway officials sources, the incident occurred around 2:15 am when Nellai Express was near Lalgudi, about 15 km from Tirunelveli.

After receiving the information about the derailment, senior officials from Tiruchirappalli Railway Division rushed to the spot immediately.

Further investigations are on to know the cause of derailment and efforts were on to restore the line, police said.
