Massive recruitment of sub-inspectors in Jammu and Kashmir Police
Srinagar, Oct 9 (ANI): The Jammu and Kashmir police has done a massive selection of candidates for 510 posts of sub-inspector, for which recruitment process was conducted throughout the state.
It is for the first time that police recruitment has been done at such a massive scale, as since 2001 only 255 Sub-Inspectors were recruited in Armed / Executive Wings of J and K Police.
"Today, J and K Police completed the process of selection of Sub-Inspectors wherein 510 candidates have been selected which include 266 in Executive Wing, 210 in Armed Wing, 11 in Auxiliary Wing and 23 in Telecom Wing," said an official release.
These posts were existing in different wings of J and K Police for which applications were sought through pubic advertisement. It received a big response from aspiring candidates.
To ensure fair and transparent selection different Boards were constituted at Range levels.
The aspirant candidates were put to physical measurements / Endurance tests which were conducted by Recruitment Boards under the Chairmanship of Range DIsG.
To ensure complete transparency, the entire proceedings of these tests were videographed.
The candidates, who qualified the said tests, were called for written examination held in March this year at Jammu, Srinagar and Leh simultaneously.
Thereafter, short-listed candidates were called for the interview by the State Level Recruitment Board which was held at Jammu and Srinagar. The process of interview was conducted in the month of April, 2010 at Jammu and it was conducted in Srinagar in the month of May/June and irrespective of prevailing conditions in the valley, the process was completed within shortest time possible.
Accordingly a merit list of all the candidates who appeared in the interview has been drawn and 510 candidates came to be selected provisionally as Sub-Inspectors under the prescribed norms.
The State Level Recruitment Board comprised of K. Rajindera, ADGP Armed/ Law and Order J and K, Sheikh Owais, IGP (Personnel) PHQ, Shri Rouf-ul-Hassan DIG Armed Police Kashmir, P.R. Manhas, DIG Security, Deepak Kumar, DIG CKR Srinagar and N.D. Wani, AIG(Personnel) under the Chairmanship of Kuldeep Khoda, DGP J and K.
The selected candidates have been informed to join at the respective range DIsG Office at earliest and selection list is displayed on the official website of J and K Police. (ANI)
