Islamabad, Oct 9 (ANI): The suicide bomb attack on the Abdullah Shah Ghazi shrine in Karachi on Thursday has been found to have links with the Taliban-infested tribal area in South Waziristan, Pakistan Interior Minister Rehman Malik has said.

"Its links have been traced to South Waziristan," the Dawn quoted Malik, as saying in the National Assembly, referring to the attack that was reportedly carried out by two suspected suicide bombers.

However, the minister talked of only one bomber, who he said, "is a Mehsud and is a resident of that area."

The government had "proofs" of how some "hostile forces' were trying to make the followers of Brelvi and Deobandi schools of thought, and Sunni and Shia sects, to fight against one another, Malik claimed.

Meanwhile, the death toll from the suicide attack has risen to nine, after one more victim succumbed to wounds at a hospital.

Investigators have claimed to have found evidence showing that two suicide bombers wearing suicide belts rather than jackets, had carried out the attacks on the religious shrine, which is located near the Arabian Sea coast. (ANI)
