CWG and controversies: Two sides of a coin

Delhi Games 2010
New Delhi, Oct 9: Despite having a successful start, Commonwealth Games 2010 and controversies seemed to be the two sides of a single coin.

When it seemed like everything was coming together perfectly, controversy erected its ugly head yet again and this time it was regarding the empty seats of Games stadiums as very few spectators visited the venues to watch Games.

CWG federation chief, Michael Fennell also earlier pointed to the issue as he commented, "We are worried about lack of people attending the events."

However, the Organising Committee of the Games invited children from NGOs for free of cost to fill the empty seats of the several venues of CWG 2010.

Spectators even faced problems while purchasing Commonwealth Games' tickets on Friday, Oct 8 following some technical glitches.
