82-year old US man kills girlfriend with flashlight and battery

Washington, Oct 09 (ANI): An 82-year old man, has beaten his girlfriend to death with a flashlight and a battery, it has emerged.

Palm Beach County Sheriff's deputies said that Al Infosino called 911 just before 7 a.m this week.

Investigators said his girlfriend, 77-year-old Rita Chirel, was found in the back bedroom of a home in the 1500 block of Bottlebrush Circle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators said Infosino told them that he drank ammonia in an attempt to kill himself, reports wpbf.com.

Neighbours told that the couple lived at the home in the Las Verdes community.

Investigators said they hadn't ever responded to the home for any reason and the couple had no history of domestic violence. Friends and family also told deputies the couple had no previous issues, according to investigators.

Infosino was taken to Delray Medical Center for observation. The investigation is ongoing. (ANI)
