Pratibha case: Killer cabbie in jail till death

Bangalore, Oct 8: The fast track court here, which heard the 2005 Pratibha rape-and-murder case, has awarded life imprisonment to the convict cab driver Shiva Kumar.

The Bangalore court on Friday, Oct 8 sentenced the cab driver to life imprisonment till death, which means that killer will remain in jail till his natural death.

Pratibha Murthy, a BPO employee, was raped and murdered in Dec 2005 by Shiva Kumar. The convict had picked Pratibha up for her night shift when the usual driver failed to show up.

The court had convicted Shiva Kumar of raping and murdering Pratibha on Wednesday, Oct 6.
