Karunanidhi to launch new integrated skill development scheme today
Chennai, Oct 8 (ANI): With an objective of capacity building of institutions providing skill development and training in Textiles Sector, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi will launch a new integrated skill development scheme here today.
Union Textiles Minister Dayanidhi Maran, Union Minister of Shipping G.K. Vasan, Minister for Information, Tamil Nadu Parithi Llamvazhuthi will be present at the occasion.
The new scheme is in line with the policy announcement of the Government, in the Current Five Year Plan.
Finance Minister Pranab Mukerjee, in his budget speech in the current year had announced launching of a new scheme in textiles sector envisaging skill development of 30 lakh persons in five years.
In the national skill development policy, a sectoral target of training 100 lakh persons by the year 2022 in the textile sector has been fixed. (ANI)
