'India to get seat in UNSC without JK link'

Washington, Oct 8: Dismissing a media report that US would allow a permanent seat in UNSC if India would solve the Kashmir imbroglio, Indian official hoped a permanent seat without any Kashmir link.

"There cannot be any possible links. These are very different issues," stated Indian official sources and termed these as speculative reports.

A daily recently reported that Obama would be carrying the message on his visit to India that settling the Kashmir issue is the key to get a permanent seat at the powerful wing of the world body.

However, Finance Minister, Parnab Mukherjee on Oct 8 claimed that whenever United Nations Security Council (UNSC) would reform and would take expansion, India would surely get a place in the international body.

Similar affirmation was sounded when foreign secretary, Nirupama Rao recently stated, "I'm not saying we have reached the destination of full American support for our case but certainly we are moving from divergence to greater convergence."
