Food inflation reduces to 16pc as supplies improve

New Delhi, Oct 7: Despite heavy rains in mid-Sep, inflation has marginally declined to 16.24 percent as of Sep 25 due to improved supplies in vegetables, especially potato.

Sources said though the prices of potato fell by 50 percent during the week, some essential items like cereals, milk and fruits continue to retain the same price.

Further reports say food prices are expected to remain sticky for sometime, as the demand supply imbalance continues.
