RSS, SIMI preach fundamentalist ideologies, says Rahul Gandhi
Bhopal, Oct.6 (ANI): Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi said on Wednesday that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the banned Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) were the two organizations of the country who preach fundamentalist ideologies.
Rahul Gandhi added that the Youth Congress is different from the two outfits.
"My statement was that as far as Youth Congress members are concerned, we will not allow people with hardline fundamentalist ideologies, and both Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), those organisations have hardline fundamentalist ideologies," said Gandhi.
He further said that everyone was aware of the ideologies that the two organizations (RSS and SIMI) preached.
"Both these organisations preach fundamentalist ideologies. That's a fact. And nothing is going to change that fact," said Gandhi.
Asked about his future role as the Prime Minister, Rahul said that the he never believes in destiny and working hard for the country and its aspirations is the aim. (ANI)
