K'taka: BSY asked to prove majority by Oct 12

20 MLAs, including 15 of the ruling BJP and five independents, have withdrawn support to the B S Yeddyurappa government.
The MLAs have submitted a letter to the Governor declaring withdrawal of support, revealed rebel leader P M Narendraswamy, who met the governor on Wednesday, Oct 6.
This came after the CM sacked four dissident ministers, namely Shivaraj Thangadagi, Venkataramanappa, P M Narendraswamy and D Sudhakar.

It should be noted that the sacked ministers were independents. Their support became crucial for BSY to form the government in May 2008 when BJP had failed to claim a majority in the Assembly polls.
