12 terror suspects arrested in France

Paris, Oct 6: Following the alert on terror attack in Europe, French police on Tuesday, Oct 2 arrested 12 people in sweeps against suspected Islamic militants across southern France.

Sources said police detained nine of them with guns and ammunition near the port city of Marseilles and Avignon.

Further reports said another three men linked to a man of Algerian origin caught in Italy with a bomb-making kit, were arrested near Marseille and Bordeaux. They are suspected of supplying fake documents for militants wanting to return to France after training in Afghanistan
