Times Square bomber likely to face life sentence

Faisal Shahzad
New York, Oct 5: The Pakistani-American terrorist, Faisal Shahzad, who pleaded guilty for Times Square bomb plot, slated to be sentenced by a New York federal judge on Tuesday, Oct 5 is likely to face life imprisonment.

The 30-year-old pleaded has guilty to 10 terror and weapons charges in connection with the May 1 failed attempt to blow up Times Square in New York.

"I want to plead guilty, and I'm going to plead guilty 100 times over because until the hour the US pulls its forces from Iraq and Afghanistan, and stops the drone strikes in Somalia and Yemen and in Pakistan, and stops the occupation of Muslim lands, and stops killing the Muslims... we will be attacking US, and I plead guilty to that," Shahzad, who called himself a "Muslim soldier", told the court in June 2010.
